Citizenship application: online 'referee declaration' I am applying for citizenship (US citizen currently), and puzzling over the 'referee declaration' bit. In the paper version of the form, the referee pages require a photograph of me, and the referee needs to fill out their own information and sign the declaration.

On the referee section they have not stated anywhere that they should know you for minimum 3 years, the referee forms also do not state that. However on some lawyer website and old forms they do state that they have to know you personally for 3 years. Does anyone know if this is still the case? EDIT - can my unmarried partner’s mum be a referee?
